A seasonal platform brings visitors near the statue’s eye level above the Pacific. Pair it with Katsurahama, but check the weather before making this the purpose of your trip.

Travel decisions
Use JR Kochi Station as your arrival hub. Kochi Travel Square and the Tosa Terrace visitor information centre are immediately outside the South Exit, where you can check a city map and onward travel plans. Keep a central Kochi visit separate from a trip to Katsurahama on the coast: the castle belongs to the city-core plan, while Katsurahama needs its own outward and return transport.
Kochi Castle can anchor a central walking visit if your group is comfortable on foot. If walking from the station is less suitable, take a tram from Kochi Ekimae toward Sanbashi, change at Harimayabashi to a westbound tram, and alight at Kochijo-mae (Kochi Castle) for the remaining walk. Harimayabashi is a transfer point on this route; the tram ride does not take you into the castle.
Katsurahama in Urado is a separate coastal journey, not a casual extension of the central walking circuit. A direct public-transport option is Tosaden's Katsurahama Line: board a Katsurahama-bound local bus at bay 5 of Kochi Station's North Exit bus terminal, or at Minami Harimayabashi in the centre, and alight at Katsurahama. Confirm the destination display. Tosaden has published a timetable revision effective October 1, 2026; use the timetable valid for your travel date and check current service and park notices.
