According to the City of Osaka's 2026 announcement, Midosuji Illumination runs from November 3 to December 31, 2026 along the corridor from the Hanshin-mae intersection to the Namba West Exit intersection, with lighting around 17:00 to 25:00. For visitors, it works best as a choose-one-section winter city walk linked to dinner, shopping, or a hotel return in central Osaka rather than as an obligation to cover the whole boulevard in one night.
A strong Osaka winter evening if you want a photogenic city walk and can match one Midosuji section to dinner and the route back to your hotel. It becomes less satisfying when treated as a full-length obligation or a tightly timed dash after another fixed reservation.
