For one day, choose the city/Ritsurin axis, Yashima, or one island voyage rather than stacking all three. If weather or transport is uncertain, remove the ferry or mountain leg first and retain a city-centered plan; current ship, rail and bus operation still requires an official recheck.
Travel decisions
The official city tourism site separates train, bus, ship and ferry-terminal access. Takamatsu Port supports island choices, while the city center is presented as a Shikoku gateway with trains and buses.
Official Takamatsu material presents a Kotoden/Ritsurin course, a Yashima direction and an Ogijima–Megijima island voyage as distinct planning ideas. A short stay should select one axis rather than merge them into a checklist.
Compared with Matsuyama's bath-and-castle core and Tokushima's dance, river and mountain context, Takamatsu is the stronger fit when a port gateway and an optional Setouchi island decision define the visit.

The first four dates are listed for free viewing. The October 16–17 sessions at Reigan Chaya are listed at ¥3,000 and limited to 45 people per date, but the organizer only says ticket information will be announced from September 1, so the current purchase method and availability remain unconfirmed.
Official access guidance points to JR Yashima Station and the Yashima Summit Shuttle Bus. Recheck current service and official notices before departure; the city page says sessions proceed in light rain and are cancelled in stormy weather, but actual weather, cancellation, occurrence, crowding, parking and accessibility remain unverified.
This free artist talk is scheduled for October 11, 2026, from 13:30 to 15:00 at the first-floor auditorium of Takamatsu City Museum of Art. The museum lists direct attendance for the first 100 people without an application; that does not guarantee capacity when you arrive.
