Shikoku amateur big bands share familiar jazz at the park’s theatre. This is a dated performance at the 21st Century Hall venue, not an art-museum exhibition.
09:30–17:00; 4 Oct closes at 16:00. Free entry. This exhibition uses the 1F Gallery, which remains usable during the separate 2F museum-area closure starting 1 Oct.
A shared gallery presents varied local creative practices, from drawings to small installations. The compact exhibition is accessible without treating the closed upstairs rooms as part of the visit.

Family-oriented museum activities give a reason to explore the cultural park on Culture Day. Choose suitable activities from the day’s programme and allow time to move between the announced spaces.

Touch, drawing and alternative ways of looking invite different visitors to explore art. The temporary gallery programme offers an accessible winter visit without promising access upstairs.
For a short stay, choose one city-culture anchor and at most one outdoor extension such as Mt. Bizan or the river. If weather or transport is uncertain, remove the outdoor extension first and recheck current official listings; this overview does not guarantee service, opening or occurrence.
Travel decisions
Use JR Tokushima Station and the bus terminal in front of it as your arrival and return reference. Rail, airport-bus and express-bus arrangements need their own checks: identify your onward service and its actual boarding point before leaving the station area. Then decide how much of the central culture area suits your available time, luggage and walking comfort.
Awa Odori Kaikan provides the central dance-culture stop, while its fifth floor houses the lower Bizan Ropeway station. A visit to the cultural floors and a ride up Mt. Bizan are separate activities with different operating schedules. Keep one culture anchor—Awa Odori or the castle—and at most one river or mountain extension; do not treat the summit as an ordinary flat walk from the station.
Compared with Matsuyama's bath-and-castle core and Takamatsu's rail-and-port island choice, Tokushima is the clearer fit when dance culture, a city castle thread and one river or mountain view shape the visit.

Autumn and winter items worth watching as route anchors. Published guides link to full visitor notes; planning-only leads still start from official sources.
The linked museum guide currently lists general planning-exhibition admission at ¥300 for adults, ¥200 for high-school and university students, and free for junior-high students and younger. Recheck applicability before visiting; reservation requirements, availability and transaction outcomes remain unconfirmed.
The current guide lists 09:30–17:00, last admission at 16:30, and a December 28–January 2 year-end closure that overlaps the scheduled range. It also gives orientation of about 10 minutes on foot from JR Tokushima Station or about 5 minutes from the Tokushima Park Washi-no-Mon-mae city-bus stop. Recheck official notices before departure; actual opening, occurrence, live transport, weather, cancellation, crowding, parking and accessibility remain unverified.
